Bridge rider @theo.degroote headed to the Provincial Road Championships with one thing in mind, win the Elite and U23 Road Race and Crit Race. He came pretty damn close taking 5th in the Elite and 1st in the U23 Crit and the win in both Elite and U23 in the Road Race.
Here are his words about how the Road Race went down.
"The race started with some attacks and I followed the first move and got caught after about 3km then at 8km into the race I followed another move and a group of 8 riders formed and we quickly started to pull turns and after a couple minutes it was clear the race wasn’t gonna come back together. There was a lot of wind so it was a pretty hard effort with only 8 riders for the remaining 140km and with 20km left 4 of us attacked and after a couple minutes one of the riders dropped and there was only 3 of us. After about 15 minutes the other 2 riders started attacking and counter attacking me. After covering 15-20 attacks In the last lap I stayed with them and managed to win in a sprint. Especially happy with winning the elite and u23 race and was super happy with how Surveyor felt in a road race. We averaged 43kph in a small group on a very windy day and I was super happy with how the bike was feeling."
Thank you Theo for taking your Surveyor on such a great adventure and showing everyone what a good rider and capable bike can do together.
